As an artist I see myself on the outskirts where all borders of genre come together. I exist in a fairly fluid cultural state due to being born in Canada but raised in Jamaica. At times I feel too Jamaican to be Canadian yet also too Canadian to be Jamaican. In all honesty I don't think it matters because it allows me to seamlessly dip into each influence to create an experience that is authentically me .

From the opening lines of the song (“one time say me cya come in” At one time, they said I could not be here) the themes of isolation/ not fitting in, are present. I detail the initial lashing out at the confusion and frustration due to not feeling welcomed, followed by subsequent triumph through the acceptance of who I am.
